12G Velocity Steel Target has been developed as the ideal introduction to steel competition shooting, offering the quality, consistency and barrel protection expected from Gamebore at a more affordable price point.

Designed for club shooting, training and competition use alike, Velocity Steel Target delivers smooth, reliable performance across all clay shooting disciplines, making it the perfect choice for shooters familiar with the popular Velocity Black lead range who are preparing for the transition from lead to steel.

Available in 21gm, 24gm and 28gm load options with a consistent 1350 FPS velocity, Velocity Steel Target has been engineered to provide excellent downrange performance, dependable target-breaking patterns and reduced felt recoil, without compromising on value.

Like the other cartridges in the Gamebore steel competition range, Velocity Steel Target features the Gamebore Wad System, designed specifically around the unique characteristics of steel shot. 

Protection is Paramount: Unlike conventional steel wads which use simple cut petals, the Gamebore Wad System features injection-moulded 45-degree petals which overlap upon firing, designed to keep the steel shot fully enclosed throughout its journey down the barrel, helping protect against pellet contact with the bore and reducing the risk of barrel scoring.

Integral ribbing along the exterior of the wad cup provides additional separation between the pellets and barrel wall, while the Quad Seal gas seal technology helps deliver smoother recoil and maximum efficiency. 

When it comes to steel shot, the wad matters and no one has engineered it better than Gamebore.

Velocity Steel Target is also available in a 24gm Bio-Wad option for use at shooting grounds where plastic wads are not permitted.

Incorporating Gamebore’s exclusive biodegradable Bio-Wad technology, it offers the same barrel protection and performance benefits as the standard wad system, while providing one of the most affordable non-plastic wad steel competition loads currently available on the UK market. 

Bio-Wad will biodegrade out in the open in a similar timeframe to a traditional fibre wad, the Bio-Wad offers an even more environmentally responsible solution to fibre wads while causing less long-term harm to the environment.

STANDARD STEEL: Suitable for all guns bearing Nitro Proof marks from 1954 and onwards. 

Standard Steel ammunition can be used in any shotgun (with the exception of those with Damascus/twist barrells) in good order bearing London or Birmingham proof symbols from 1954 onwards. For pre-1954 shotguns guidance will be needed from the British Proof Authority. The shotgun must be chambered for the case length of the ammunition as a minimum. Longer chamber lengths can be used with shorter ammunition.
