The Country Food Trust

The team behind fantastic initiative the Country Food Trust are seeking support from businesses and individuals within the shooting community to help meet their target of providing 250,000 free meals.

The Country Food Trust was established in July 2015 with the aim of utilising the abundance of high quality game available in the UK in order to help those in need.

With the simple aim of providing one free meal for every meal sold, the sense of directly helping someone is very tangible to anyone who wants to help and clearly demonstrates the commitment the people involved have for the project.

The Country Casserole is made from diced pheasant meat purchased from UK game dealers and then cooked in pouches which means it can be stored at room temperature for up to a year. This makes them hugely practical for both ease of storage and distribution and they can then be heated in the pouch, microwaved or a sauce pan. We have tried them and they are very good !

The meals are being distributed by the charity FareShare to hundreds of smaller charities and community groups throughout the UK.

The Country Food Trust is also working very closely with Veterans Aid to support ex- servicemen and women who require help and support at a difficult time.
